Bk #3: Who's Book is it?

Once it's been released....it has it's own journey!

Welcome book lover, you are among friends.

My hope that as I publish this work, it becomes free to meander it’s own way across the verse that we are in (I’ve been watching Spider Man with the boys). That the material takes on a mind of it’s own, it mingles with the readers experiences and perspectives. My hope is that it connects, forms a bond and forges a unique connection that extends beyond the confines of it’s pages or the screen.

It’s yours as are the recipes.

Skipped the introduction because you just want to start?  I totally understand, as a self-confessed introduction reading addict, I feel I always need to understand where the author is coming from and I take a comfort in understanding the ethos of the author who has toiled to gift something into the world, at the same time I usually just want to dive into a book and start.  Pretty much like when I buy a piece of flat packed furniture, or a Lego set.  There are just a few thoughts to convey first, a moment of your time!

Although this is my story, my thoughts on cooking and feeding the family.  Unless you borrowed this, reading on-line, the content is now yours, especially the recipes! 

Ultimately, they are yours, to enjoy splashing the pages, the screen, even make notes, tweaks that make them work in your kitchen with your pans, oven, and stove.

The ground rules.

The book is merely a guide, a friend on your shoulder, this is your food, your time and ultimately your choice as to what you put on the table. There is an obviousness to this in that what you eat comes down to you and I believe that if you’re interested in any small way then that is the spark to start something amazing. 

To some this will just be about putting the food on the table in a more sustainable way and to others it might be a route to mindfulness or way of being creative.  For others a goal or just that you find yourself in a situation that you simply need to learn.

Anyone can be a good cook if interested, willing to pay attention in a small way and set time aside. With that in mind the recipes that are in this book are here to conjure up that sense of home cooking, be it for entertaining friends, your in-laws or just yourself.  Might be something that the kids look back on and think I would love to have Dad’s chocolate puddle pudding or his home-made lasagne.

In reality it turns out different every time, I tweak the ingredients, use a different pasta.  It’s called Dad’s because it’s made with love that counts, although he might be tired and grumpy (some days)!

An ethos - just do it!

In an effort to instil an ethos of just doing it, we are going to jump right in with Onions.  They are relatively inexpensive, add flavour and a great way to get your hand in! 

I’ll intertwine, my story and my thoughts as we go.  I hope you enjoy the adventure that unfolds.
