Pam Brunton sounds interesting. I love a good memoire/manifesto/critique of the industry - in this case food! I found Sue Lawrence Scottish Baking at the library. I'll start with her original and make my way to 'the New' later! :-)
That's awesome your library has old version, I didn't realise there was one. Edinburgh library is pretty special and gets a lot of the new books in. Let me know if you bake anything from the book. I love to know what piques your ancestral connection.

I was just enjoying a read and your excellent choices of book and then saw mine! Thank you, what a fine way to end to a long early train journey
It’s a great book, had to be there on the list.
Well said! Agree with your final paragraph. If I could buy all the cook books on my list....well, let's just say there is no room left!
No room, and not enough time to cook it all 😃
I think our taste in cookbooks must be similar as I have a few on your list in my bookshelf & others on my list for Santa. May he be kind to us both.
I’m hoping so….I’ve definitely been good this year!
All of this is wonderful. The geese. Getting beans ready to soak. Cookbook dreams.
Thanks Joyce, Geese are amazing as they move about the world.
